NO FCRA USE. This is a privately operated website with no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for a credit decision, employment screening, tenant screening, insurance eligibility, or another Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) purpose. Clay County and Texas record resources are presented for reference. We are neither a consumer reporting agency nor a private investigation firm.
1. What This Website Is
This private reference site is independent of every government office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve them, conduct an official check, or submit paperwork for a visitor.
Its role is to identify official custodians, including the Clay County Sheriff's Records Division, the proper court clerk, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and to connect visitors with outside research tools. Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public information held by government bodies, and Chapter 411 governs criminal-history dissemination. Those laws do not make this site an official custodian.
2. Rules for Using This Site
By using the site, you agree not to:
- Use bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
- Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
- Attempt unauthorized entry into any system
- Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
- Use site content for an FCRA-regulated decision
- Violate federal, Texas, or local law
3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Misconduct can carry civil or criminal consequences. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 controls registration information, which exists for community awareness and safety rather than retaliation or vigilante action.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, background checks, or other consumer reports. Advertising partners are not offered as FCRA screening providers. Information from the site or a linked tool may not be used to:
- Set an insurance rate or decide insurance eligibility
- Evaluate creditworthiness
- Screen a housing applicant
- Make an employment decision
- Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
A lawful FCRA-regulated check must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider. This site and its general record-routing content are not such a service.
5. No Legal Advice
Site content is not legal advice. General Clay County record procedures cannot answer how a charge, warrant, conviction, nondisclosure, or expunction rule affects a specific person. Seek advice from a licensed Texas attorney.
6. No Warranties
All content is provided "as is." We make no promise that:
- An outside search result is complete or correct
- Every page is free from errors or security flaws
- Service will always be uninterrupted
- Information is complete, accurate, or current
Criminal records can change when a charge is filed, dismissed, nondisclosed, corrected, or expunged. Gaps and delays are possible. Only the originating Clay County or Texas office can make an official statement about its record.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
Links can lead to courts, the Sheriff's Office, Texas agencies, legal resources, and outside search providers. We do not control an external site's content, uptime, data practices, or fees and accept no responsibility for them. Review the destination's terms before use.
8. Intellectual Property
Clay County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, alter, distribute, or create derivative works from that material.
9. Limits on Our Liability
To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from site use, including reliance on information supplied here or by a linked service.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your site use or breach of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.
11. Governing Law
Texas law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Texas.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when it is posted on this page.
13. Cutting Off Access
Access may be limited or terminated at any time, with or without advance notice.
14. Severability
If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in force. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
15. Questions
Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
