Clay County Arrest History
A Clay County arrest can produce several records at once. The arresting agency creates an incident or offense report. The Clay County jail creates an intake entry, booking identifier, charge-at-intake data, bond or hold information, and custody status. If a prosecutor files a charge, the right clerk opens a court case. The Texas Department of Public Safety may later build a statewide arrest cycle after reportable fingerprint and event data arrive. Those files can disagree for sound reasons because each covers a different stage.
The Clay County Sheriff is the verified local route for Sheriff-originated reports, bookings, and current custody. A Texas Highway Patrol event may belong to DPS, and a crash goes to the state CRIS system. The county research found no separate public police-record portal for Henrietta, Petrolia, or Byers. A requester should identify the agency named on the report rather than assume every event belongs to the Sheriff.
Clay County Arrest Roster Access
The Sheriff links directly to the Kologik Public Jail Roster for Clay County, using county code TX0390000. It is the official online path for present or recent local custody. The public shell requires browser JavaScript, and its static page does not publish a dependable list of search controls, result columns, update intervals, booking photos, or release fields. Enable JavaScript and read only the fields actually shown. Do not assume that every profile includes the same details.

If the roster does not load, call the Sheriff’s main number at 940-538-5611. If a person has left local custody, request an existing jail face sheet or check whether the person moved to state custody. Looking Up Clay County Arrests
Choose the official channel that answers the exact question. A live Clay County arrest lookup should begin with custody. A search for an older booking needs the Sheriff’s records process. A filed felony or misdemeanor belongs to a clerk, while the DPS public product shows only the Texas conviction and deferred-adjudication category made public by law. The statewide name search is not a fingerprint-positive match.

- For a past booking, ask the Sheriff’s Records Division for a jail face sheet. For the event narrative, ask for the incident or offense report from the actual arresting agency.
- Match a filed felony to the District Clerk or a Class A/B misdemeanor to the County Clerk. A fine-only matter goes to the justice or municipal court named on the citation.

Clay County Arrest Record Requests
The Sheriff’s Records Division at 215 W. Gilbert Street, Henrietta, accepts Clay County arrest record requests in person, by mail, or through its designated email. Fax is expressly rejected for security. Posted hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a noon to 1:00 p.m. closure and county-holiday closures. The office says to allow up to ten business days. Requests sent to another county email need not count as valid requests.

The form offers incident/offense report, call for service, jail face sheet, and “Other.” It asks for requester contact details, an instructed picture-ID copy, related names and birth date, incident location, incident or arrest date, case or incident number, and a signed certification. The office may charge a search fee if the offense number, call-for-service number, or jail-placement date is missing. It contacts the requester when costs apply and requires prepayment. No fixed local base-copy price was found in official sources.

The page also makes a key distinction: the Records Division does not hold court records, and traffic crashes route to TxDOT CRIS.
Inside a Clay County Arrest Record
A Clay County booking or jail profile may expose a name, booking identifier and date, custody status, charge descriptions, arresting agency, bond or hold, and release data where staff entered them. Exact field completeness could not be verified from the static Kologik shell. The public page must therefore be read as it appears, without assuming that a photo, full demographics, or every bond field is available. A jail face sheet can preserve booking data after the live entry disappears.

Clay County Arrest Data at DPS
After arrest and transport, general Texas custody stages include identity intake, property inventory, fingerprints and a booking image, charge and warrant or hold entry, medical and safety screening, and magistration with bail review. Clay County does not publish its own internal step order or exact timing, so no local service deadline should be inferred. Kologik can reflect current custody, while the jail face sheet remains the better request for a past intake.
DPS explains that its Multimodal Biometric Identification System processes submitted arrest fingerprints, resolves identity, stores related biometrics when supplied, and sends suitable information to federal systems. Prosecutors and courts separately report qualifying filed charges and outcomes to the statewide Computerized Criminal History. That is why Clay County arrest data may not appear in DPS at the same time as the local booking.

Fingerprints support positive identity in a way that similar names and birth dates cannot.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
Clay County publishes no separate daily arrest blotter, archived booking log, arrest-release list, press-release list, or most-wanted database. Kologik is the recent-custody interface. It should be described and linked, not copied into an arrest gallery. No names or booking photographs should be republished. Once a live entry is gone, ask the Sheriff for a jail face sheet tied to the known booking date or identifier.
An empty roster result does not prove that no Clay County arrest happened. The person may have been released, transferred, booked under details that do not match the query, or held elsewhere. Finding Past Clay County Arrest Bookings
When a Clay County booking leaves the live roster, work backward from facts already known. Ask for the existing jail face sheet, not a custom arrest-history summary. Give the jail-placement or arrest date, the related name and birth date, the incident location, and any incident or case number. These locators help the Records Division find the record and may prevent a search fee. The form says the Public Information Act does not require the office to create a compilation or answer questions.
Some content may be withheld or redacted. The Sheriff’s exclusions list covers compiled criminal histories, motor-vehicle information, certain juvenile law-enforcement data, medical data, protected victim details, child-abuse information, personal financial data, and security codes, among other categories. Government Code Section 552.108(c) still preserves basic information about an arrested person, an arrest, or a crime even when other investigative material may be excepted.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
A Clay County arrest record proves an enforcement and booking event was recorded. It does not prove that the prosecutor filed the intake charge or that a court found guilt. A filed charge may be reduced, dismissed, no-billed, deferred, tried, or resolved in another way. The final court judgment is the sound source for a conviction. For felony and misdemeanor outcomes, use the full Clay County criminal court case record held by the proper clerk.

Clay County Crash and Arrest Reports
Incident reports and crash reports take separate paths. For a Sheriff-originated incident, use the Clay County public-information form and select “Incident/offense report.” A traffic crash routes to the TxDOT Crash Records Information System. Protected crash access may require at least two statutory identifiers, such as the accident date, location, or an involved person. Calling a crash an arrest report can send the request to the wrong custodian.
DPS name-search instructions show another distinction. The public product asks for legal first and last names, with middle or maiden name and birth-date details to narrow results. Soundex normally broadens the search to similar-sounding names, and a no-match may still consume a credit. Review the current checkout message before opening a possible record. A name match is not fingerprint identification and does not create a complete Clay County nonconviction arrest history.
